- We are very grateful for the support from the Ulla-Førrefondet. The support has been absolutely crucial in enabling us to now get on with the project Sustainable Drill & Drive, says the general manager of VIA, Helen Roth.

Objectives of the project Sustainable Drill & Drive is to explore a new and forward-looking tunnel concept based on regional experience and expertise from the oil and gas industry.

“The concept we will develop in partnership with Seabrokers Fundamentation, Aarbakke Innovation and Mobility Forus will be able to contribute to the development of climate-smart and cost-effective public transport routes,” says Roth.

VIA was one of a total of six applicants who came through the narrow eye of the Ulla-Førrefondet call. A total of 51 applications were submitted to the application deadline of September 1. The support is given to projects in the field of green transformation and the development of higher education in Rogaland.

- The total amount of applications was close to NOK 340 million. We have reached an important milestone in the history of the fund, and we are very pleased to finally be able to grant support to 6 projects that will have a great impact on the green transition and regional value creation in Rogaland,” says Torkel Myklebust, Chairman of the Ulla-Førrefondet.
