8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Transport Tent, Arendalsuka

Organizers: ITS Norway, Nordic Innovation and VIA

About the event

Will Norway be a key player in the mobility industry a decade from now, or will we look back at opportunities that passed us by? This session in the Communication Tent aims to explore in-depth issues of innovation, cooperation and policy support that are essential to shaping the future of mobility and transport in Norway.

Through constructive discussions and critical analyses, we will address the current situation in which Norway is lagging behind compared to our Nordic neighbours, despite our potential, many good intentions and initiatives. Finland, Sweden and Denmark lead the way in Europe both in terms of innovation and investment. We explore what it takes for Norway to assert itself in this race.

We invite a wide range of participants, from venture capitalists and industry leaders to policymakers and public actors to participate in this important dialogue. The aim is to identify what measures are needed to transform the mobility sector in Norway, promote growth and ensure that we can help lead the way in the development of a sustainable and innovative mobility industry. We want to understand what it takes to increase the competence of all actors in the ecosystem to achieve more scale, and what steps policymakers must dare to take to support growth and implementation of new and sustainable mobility.

Join us in shaping a strategy that ensures that Norway's mobility industry not only survives, but accelerates in the coming years.

The central questions are:

  • What will it take for venture capitalists, industry and the industry to cooperate more and accelerate the development and implementation of innovative solutions?
  • What policy measures and framework conditions do we need more of to stimulate growth in the sector?
  • What opportunities are we missing out on if we don't make changes?
  • How can Norway raise the level of ambition for the entire Nordic region, and what does it require from industry, private investors and politicians?
  • Norway is lagging behind, how can we strengthen cooperation in the Nordic countries?
  • What does a strengthened Nordic region mean in mobility and transport, and how to position itself as a powerful competitor in the global arena?

This session in the Communication Tent aims to be more than a discussion; it is a call to action. The aim is to come up with concrete solutions and strategies that can help Norway catch up and cooperate more closely with our Nordic neighbours. Then we need to highlight challenges and opportunities and to elevate Norway's position in the Nordic and global mobility and transport sectors through an offensive and strategic approach.
